Technology grants enhance PCU distance learning programs-PCU recently received two technology grants from the PCU Alumni Association and the U.S. Department of Education. The awards, totaling more than $71,000, will be used to upgrade hardware and software to improve the online learning experience.

In a related story-PCU's Information Technology staff have begun a study to identify features to be incorporated into upcoming technology improvements. The study will include an assessment of current status, as well as a review of current distance learning software applications. This is an opportunity to let us know what you need to make your online learning experience more user-friendly. Email IT@pcu.edu to voice your opinion.

Veterans Scholarship at PCU-Pass Christian University is pleased to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund to assist military personnel who have sustained disabling injuries in the line of duty. Each year, one or more disabled veterans will be selected to receive the $5,000 annual award, which may be used for tuition, fees, or computer hardware or software. For further information, email scholarship@pcu.edu.

Thanks to students who complete course evaluations-PCU wants to thank all students who complete course evaluations. In the past six months, the number of students who complete the evaluations has risen by 23%! We want you to know that we use the feedback from each evaluation to determine our effectiveness and develop our programs. And while we take targeted constructive criticism to heart, we're pleased to say that we must be doing something right, with overall ratings more than 85% favorable.

Transitions-New faculty members include Karen Motz in the Social Sciences Department, Isaac Reynolds in Fine Arts, and William Best in Engineering. These new faces will be filling spaces vacated by Harold McDonald, Thomas Weston, and Georgia Weiss, respectively. Weiss is moving on to a Director of Engineering spot, while McDonald and Weston are retiring. Best wishes to all!
