The increasing global focus on homeland security and counter-terrorism has resulted in an unprecedented demand for criminal justice and security professionals. The College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Pass Christian University offers courses to prepare students for careers in adult and juvenile justice, crime investigation, forensics, law enforcement, high-tech crime, private security, probation, corrections, and justice administration.
Graduates of the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice will demonstrate the capability to
- analyze the fundamentals of criminal justice.
- understand and describe the function of criminal justice systems in modern society and the distinctions of law enforcement in various countries.
- analyze and describe various agencies and procedures used to identify, apprehend, and treat criminal offenders.
- use cost-effective approaches to meet the challenges of national security.
- explain criminal behavior, treatment, and prevention.
- analyze crime patterns and prevention methods in the United States and other countries.
- explain the role of the police, courts, and corrections in the administration of justice in the United States and other countries.
- understand and apply prevention and treatment techniques to crime problems.
- critically analyze the theories of the causes of criminal behavior and delinquency.
- articulate the principles of crime scene investigation.
- use of computer technology to analyze criminal behavior
