Accounting > QuickBooks 2010 for Contractors
Contractors
have many unique bookkeeping issues, so we've designed this course from
the ground up to meet the specific accounting needs of the construction
industry.
In this six-week course, you'll learn how to use the
Premier Contractor Edition of QuickBooks to run your business more
efficiently. Lessons are clearly illustrated and include clear
step-by-step instructions in plain language so you can get hands-on
practice with the features that you're sure to use on a daily basis.
You'll
discover how to create custom and professional-looking contract
estimates. You'll also learn the different methods available to bill
your clients, including how to use the QuickBooks progress invoicing
and job-costing features.
You'll find out how to deal with
tricky situations like change orders and retainage requirements, and
you'll be able to properly set up accounts, items, customers and jobs.
All along the way, you'll learn how to avoid many of the big and often
costly mistakes contractors commonly make with QuickBooks.
Finally,
you'll learn how specific transactions impact all your various
accounts, and even some techniques to protect your business from fraud,
prepare for tax time, and generate useful and dynamic reports.

Student Reviews:
- "I was extremely happy with this course. I read the users
guide that came with Quickbooks for Contractors to try and teach myself
but found it very difficult to understand. I then tried the Quickbooks
for Contractors for Dummies which was better, but still I was
frustrated. When I saw this program online, I figured I might as well
give it one more try. I am very happy that I did. This 6 week course is
written in such a manner that it helped me to understand the concepts
so much better. I did not feel frustrated at all and the added
assignments helped. Another reason I like this course was because the
day before the course was to start, I unexpectently had to go out of
town for a 2 week training program and did not have access to
Quickbooks. This course gave me the opportunity to catch up when I got
back. If I had taken Quickbooks elsewhere, I would not have been able
to complete the course and probably would have lost my money. Thank you
for thinking about the unexpected or busy times in our lives."
- "I was very nervous to be taking this course, I am a 38 year
old homemaker and mother of 6 from ages 15 down to 2, with no college
background. I also homeschool one of my children. My husband just
recently started an electrical business and I am doing all the
bookkeeping. I took this course in order to have an understanding of
Quickbooks to do an efficient job. I don't have a lot of extra time,
but I found this course helped me to learn the program without
overloading me with a lot of unnecessary work. I feel I have a much
better understanding of the program and I enjoyed the course. Thank
you."
- "Really enjoyed the course. I looked forward to it every week and sharing with my employer the tips I learned. Thanks."
- "Thanks for the help. The course was understandable even for us non-accountants."
- "This course was fantastic. I took this course because I had
recently started a new job and the office manager was switching over to
Quickbooks to incorporate the job-costing feature into his everyday
accounting. I feel that I now have an extremely good grasp on what we
need to include on our future jobs to get the most out of the
job-costing feature. The course was well written and the lesson were
easy to understand and follow. I would recommend this course to anyone
who was going to be using Quickbooks for Contractors."
