Prospective Students:
Accreditation of a college or university means that the courses, programs, budget, and educational objectives of that institution have been reviewed and approved by the accrediting agency. Accreditation confirms that an institution's programs meet the academic standards of the accrediting agency.
Requirements for accreditation vary from country to country, and the fees an institution must pay to be accredited are often very steep. Pass Christian University recognizes the importance of accreditation, and we are either preparing applications for accreditation or in the process of review with several accrediting agencies. Because PCU's student body is multi-national, however, to seek accreditation in each country would be impractical, if not impossible.
In the United States, the federal government and many state and local governments require their employees to hold degrees from institutions accredited by a government agency. Similarly, professions that require state licensing (e.g., medicine, law, and teaching) may require a degree from a government-accredited school. In addition, traditional colleges and universities may not recognize credits earned by students in non-conventional programs.
Innovative, non-traditional distance learning institutions like Pass Christian University typically are not accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. For this reason, PCU advises all prospective students to fully investigate the accreditation requirements of their employer, or prospective employer or professional association prior to enrollment at PCU.
PCU is incorporated in the state of ___________ and, as such, complies with all state and federal laws. The programs and courses offered by Pass Christian University meet the same high standards as those offered by traditional institutions of higher learning.
