School of Social Science programs at Pass Christian University guide students in the study of human social institutions, social relationships, and the causes and consequences of human social behavior. Social Science majors study the family, lifestyles, crime, religion, race, culture, social class, work, and sport. Social Science courses include instruction in social theory, research methods, social organization and structure, social classes and hierarchies, dynamics of social change, family structures, social control, and social problems.
Graduates of the School of Social Science may be found working in government, non-government organizations, charitable foundations, community organizations, and research institutions, as well as human services and business. An undergraduate degree in Social Science may lead to a career in administration, elder care, business management, health services, law enforcement, human resources, community service, and education, as well as graduate study in sociology, law, journalism, business, education, counseling, medicine, politics, public administration, social work, or criminology.
Learning is facilitated through faculty-led discussions and individual and team projects. Some degree tracks include cooperative learning opportunities, and course work combines theory and practice with personal. Successful Social Science students will
